Smallville is another in an ever-growing line of superhero franchises that has found its way on to the small screen and subsequently deep into public consciousness.
And it's not hard to work out why...
The plot has more twists than the 300 miles of wiring currently hiding under my desk. The acting, although occasionally drifting into hammy, is credible and believable -- yes you actually do give a damn what happens, even to Lex Luther!
But I think its main strength is its ongoing story lines and of course the fact that it is built on the legend that is Superman.
It also has many characters from the DC Commics which tie into the Smallville universe quite nicely
Just for fun, imagine that you've been given some superhero powers. Tell us all what they would be and what you'd use them for.
OK, for anyone who hasn't the faintest idea what I'm talking about and you've happened on this site whilst looking for belly dancing hamsters, here's what it's all about...
In 1989, this sleepy Kansas community was hit by a meteor shower caused by the destruction of Krypton, don't worry, you'll hear a lot more about the planet Krypton before we're done.
A meteor shower wasn't the only thing to hit Smallville as in the middle of this shower came a spaceship containing a toddler, who we assume is the last survivor of Krypton.
The ship, and indeed the boy, was found by farmstead owners, Jonathan and Martha Kent who took him in, naming him Clark.
So this is the story of Clark Kent's journey through his teens and early 20s, slowly finding out who he is, coming to terms with the special abilities he has and trying to keep his secret from the world, including his best friends.
His struggles are made no less simple by the amount of oddly behaving folks in Smallville who have been adversely affected by the meteor radiation. They too have certain abilities, but tend to display them in a less than friendly manner.
It's a wonder the house prices haven't plummeted!
This site could be said to be one fan's perspective of Smallville and I hope you find my observations entertaining, even if you don't agree with my point of view.
Here's what you can expect to find...
I'll be working as fast as I can to round out the site, so please do visit often to catch the latest updates. Just bear in mind that I don't have Clark Kent's super speed.
